Data breaches have seemingly become so commonplace that we may have grown dull to announcements regarding new ones—that is, until it impacts you or your organization. The average cost of a data breach reaches into the millions of dollars, and the time it takes to contain a breach is increasing.

Associations may be in the crosshairs both for the wealth of data they have on members and sponsors and because of their roles in the connection of industries and professionals. In other words, cyber terrorists could use associations as an avenue to get to other players.
